Next step completed for revamped Worker’s Club Cafe

 In Refurbishment

Nulex Construction and Toronto Worker’s Club have a long history of working together to keep this local favourite in tip-top condition. Our recent upgrade the Club’s bathroom facilities was delivered exactly to the requested specifications, and the Club board were eager to keep the ball rolling on the upgrade to the café areas.

We’re pleased to have worked on this club refurbishment in partnership with EJE Architects to create this space. EJE were commissioned to custom design the café and we were contracted to build it.

The café section of the club is now an ideal space for a casual catch-up over light meals, coffee and cake. We installed feature screens to act as dividers from the rest of the Club and the quirky designs keep the area fun and light, whilst still giving patrons that little bit of privacy. A stunning framed wall provides a splash of colour to the area.

We carried through the light, fresh vibe we introduced during the bathroom project when choosing the flooring, resulting in a sandy vinyl plank floor that ties in well with the tabletops and brings the whole room together.

The turn-around for this project was tight as the client required the upgrade to be completed in time for a busy holiday period. We pulled out all stops to ensure we delivered the project on time by fastracking supplies and expediting the manufacture of key components.

Like all club projects, minimising distruption to patrons is an important factor and one that Nulex Construction are used to working around. Our team did an excellent job of reducing noise and disturbance given the Club was still operating with a temporary café that had been set up in the dining area.

The team took it in their stride, working overtime and weekends to bring the job to a close in just eight weeks. All in all, it was a great effort and a fantastic result for the patrons of Toronto Worker’s Club.
