Nulex Constructions Director, Alex Mitchell (second from left), was recently announced as the winner of the Young Entrepreneurship Award, in the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards.
34-year-old Alex established Nulex Constructions, with business partner Mark Neumann, in 2011. He then followed this up by creating Backyard Grannys, a separate arm of the business focusing on premium quality granny flats.
The success of both is due, in no small part, to the innovative nature of Alex’s approach to business. Working within the construction sector, Alex brings a unique blend of building skills and knowledge as well as business expertise, creativity and passion to his role.
Alex said he was elated to be recognised in a field of strong finalists.
“It sounds corny to say, but I was honestly pleased to just be announced as a finalists, so to be awarded the winner was fantastic!” Alex said.
“Part of my approach to business is to develop a balance between my work life and family, so it was wonderful to be able to share the celebration with my wife.”
