Climbing to great heights!

 In News, Sponsorship

During October one of our team completed an amazing feat, all the while raising money for a worthy cause.

Our Remedial Work Manager, Steve McKay, is also a retained firefighter and participated in the annual Fire Fighters Climb for Motor Neurone Disease.

Wearing their full uniforms, plus 20kg, Steve and another 450 Fire Fighters took on the 1,504 steps of the Sydney Tower Eye. The climb took 28 minutes and as Steve says – it was not for the faint hearted! The Sydney Tower Eye is Sydney’s tallest structure and is also the second tallest observation tower in the Southern Hemisphere.

“It was very rewarding at the top with seeing our family, friends and fellow firefighters cheering us on at the finish line,” Steve said.

They raised over $500,000!
